I wish to share my thoughts on consciousness and how my understanding aligns with systems theory and the concept of synergy as described by Buckminster Fuller.
The inspiration for this page started with a contemplation of the theory of panpsychism and the question,
Do quarks have imagination?
Do Quarks Dream of Sentient Beings?
Of Systems, Synergy, and Quarks’ Cosmic Dreams
In realms of systems, intertwined and deep,
A dance of parts, their secrets yearn to keep,
Hierarchies woven in nature’s seams,
Emergent wonders, more than what it seems.
A scholar named Fuller, insights he did glean,
On synergy, where the whole is more than each bean,
Uniting parts, their forces in between,
To create new worlds, like cosmic cuisine.
Quantum quandaries, physics unbound,
Mysteries of particles’ dance, profound,
Yet from their chaos, order can be found,
As life springs forth, on solid ground.
Panpsychism whispers, in the quiet night,
That all things hold a spark, a glimmer of light,
A flicker of thought, a dream in flight,
Consciousness stirring, within, out of sight.
Quarks, imagineers of realms unseen,
In cosmic dreams, they weave the grandest scenes,
From simplest parts, the universe convenes,
A tapestry of life, through quarks’ dream-machine.
In harmony, the universe unites,
From fundamental particles’ cosmic flights,
To living systems, bathed in starry light,
The dance of quarks, the song of cosmic plight.
