Monk 01
First efforts generating images with Midjourney AI.
The /imagine prompt used was something close to:
“A Buddhist monk walks a path towards a futuristic temple in the style of Alejandro Jodorowsky”
I did not save the exact text of the prompt since this was my initial playing around experience.
Monk 02
Initial playing with tweaking Midjourney prompts.
Similar prompt to the Monk 01. My intent was to create this image in the style of the Jodorowsky “The Incal” comic books, but also to achieve the specific look of the artist Moebius (aka Jean Giraud).
This image was getting closer to what I feel is a Moebius artwork.
Monk 03
Another version of the same prompt used in the previous Monk images, this has more emphasis on the monk. I really like the way the monk’s robes appear. The color and draping lines I feel are similar to how Moebius would draw them. The futuristic temple form looks organic while still having a techno vibe. The landscape colors are otherworldly.
Monk 04
Another version of the same prompt used in the previous Monk images. This monk is heading towards some lovely futuristic temples and is carrying a satchel that is a bit techie. I would like to join this monk on his journey and learn the wisdom he seeks.

The swirling colors create a cosmic image that may have come from the Webb space telescope.

The ‘crepuscular rays’ is a lighting style that imbues mystical power.

This prompt uses value weighting and separates ideas in the prompt giving them relative importance.

Same prompt as Brain 01, however the upscale was done on a different version. It looks less like a human brain than the first version. Perhaps this is an alien space brain!

Same prompt as Brain 01 + 02, however this upscale version is not at all like a human brain despite the ‘realistic brain::1.60‘ criteria. This is an alien space brain if I ever imagined one!
Ear 01

This is in my opinion a beautiful image, however it is not at all what I expected would result from the text prompt. The colorful burst of energetic activity does somehow evoke an auditory experience.
Ear 02

The prompt is very simple. It is fascinating how such an imaginative design results from minimum user input. The “surreal” input is especially invocative for me. Viewing such strong imagery triggers my emotional attachment to the meaning of “ear” and “nerve fibers.”

The identical simple as Ear 02. This version is yet another imaginative, surrealistic rendering of a human ear with nerve fibers. The glowing quality of the nerve fibers and the profile lines of the head are wonderful. The muted brain substance is very cool.
Eye 01

Not at all a realistic brain or eye, but what do you expect would happen if it was devoured by a black hole! Interesting that the brain is not visible only a single eye with nerve fibers is shown. However, the realistic style is evident and the depth of field adds to the realism of an unreal object.

Same prompt as Eye 01, however it is a different version upscaled. I like the nebula appearance. It is creepy and cosmic at the same time.

Same prompt as Eye 01 + Eye 02. This upscaled version is probably the creepiest of them all. Perhaps the color scheme with reds, yellows and green adds to the alien vibe.

The way that the AI interprets the prompt is exactly what I hoped for. In my opinion this is definitely in the style of Dali.
The style of surrealism by Dali is captivating. I have always been a big fan of this style and now that this AI has proven its skill in generating this style I am very happy with the results.
Eye 05
PROMPT: same as Eye 04 above, just a different version
Midjourney creates 4 different versions based on a single prompt and sometimes they can be very different. Also, each time an identical prompt is entered entirely different results arise. The user decides which of the 4 versions to “upscale” and render in greater detail, generating a higher resolution image file.
No Body

Similar prompt to Eye 04, but this time it is a human body that is devoured by a black hole. Actually there are two bodies shown (female and male). But if you look close there are No Bodies at all.
No Mind

Last in the series of “No [sense organ]” in the style of Dali. This image has an obvious row of teeth which is perhaps the only visual clue that there was once a mouth in existence before it was devoured by a black hole.

This is first in a series of “beautiful girls” all of them falling into a black hole. The black hole represents to me the interface between the known universe and that which is beyond our knowledge. Perhaps the AI also interprets this in a similar fashion.

Same prompt as Girl 04 just a different version. Interesting how very different versions emerge from the same prompt. This image really calls to me. The girl still exists in our universe but she can see passed the event horizon into a universe beyond our imagining.
